thought, as her mother took the veil and arranged it
properly. "i love jeffery," she said suddenly and then glared
at her mother, as if challenging her to disagree. "of course
you do, dear," said her mother, "and he loves you, too." poor
lucy, the mother thought, remembering how nervous she
had been on her own wedding day. she gave her daughter
a quick hug and walked out to join the rest of the wedding
guests.
