Explanation: The Count of Monte Cristo The work of Alexandre Dumas was adapted for the cinema. The interpreters are two great friends, Fernand (Guy Pearce) and Edmond Dantes (Jim Caviezel). Edmond is a simple and humble sailor of a French nationality. He has a bride named Mercedes and his best friends Fernand until the moment Fernand, who can no longer bear the inner envy he has of Dantes (even from a noble, very wealthy family), because he has a beautiful woman, ends up causing Dantes, a poor and honest man, to be charged with treason and murder during a trip to Elba, where Napoleon Bonaparte is in exile, Mondego sees the chance he wanted to end Dantes so badly, accusing him of betrayal. Supported by the ship's Immediate Danglars and Judge Villeford, Mondego manages to send Dantes to prison at If Castle. Isolated from the world on an island. Heartbroken, Mercedes now alone, seeks solace in the arms of Mondego whom she marries soon after. For Dantes, over the years he gets stuck (in a tiny stone room), loses faith in God, until he comes across a priest Abbot Faria who teaches him everything from reading and writing, fencing, manners , and together, who was also in prison and had an escape plan, Dantes escapes from prison, full of hatred and thirsty for revenge. He finds his luck in an unspeakable treasure, becomes Count, and begins to take revenge on all who betrayed him, among them his fiancee, who married Fernand. Count of Monte Cristo is not Oscar material, may not be an original Movie, it offers free fun, with action scenes and suspense in a way that makes the people watching are stuck in the history of the movie, it could have been a movie that it has been on the scene years ago, but even though it has been transposed to the movies before, it still thrills viewers.
