When you connect a work of fiction to it's historical context, you have to take into account the various cultural context and customs that are associated with that particular time in history.

When connecting a work of fiction with a historical context, you are trying to be in the story and make the story easier to relate to the readers. And in order to do that, it is necessary to take into account the customs of that particular time. And also, not withstanding the events that are based on the context of the text that was written.  With the inclusion and consideration of the cultural context and customs, it will also make the story more realistic and easier for the readers to be into it.

two factors or characteristics of a chapter that might make it difficult to read would be words i don't understand, or if i don't fully understand what's going on in the chapter. strategies i can use to get through the difficult material would be a dictionary, and re-reading previous chapters to get a better grasp of what the author is trying to say.
