What does the author mean by “focusing on the audience” in reference to composing a thesis statement?

The audience is going to be the receiver of what an author is saying; thereby, a thesis statement must contain the necessary information, according to the type of audience, to understand the purpose and intention of the message.

A thesis statement must include an engaging summary of how and why a particular topic is going to be delivered and discussed, and without these elements, the audience will not be interested.
