Read the excerpt from major's speech in chapter 1 of animal farm. Major emphasizes that humans can't be trusted. It is claimed that they only care about themselves. And thus, animals need to do the same. Humans and animals can never be friends.

You know this by reading this line from the excerpt;

After reading it a few times, I am almost certain that the answer is B.

Major tells the animals that if Man tells them that they have their best interests at heart, they are lying. Man only does things that benefit only themselves and no one else.
