Simple: acceptance.

What do i mean by that?

Well, first of all - the feeling of exclusion, rejection is what "kills" them, not exactly their disability (althought it can be heartbreaking at the beggining). So, insert special needs kids/teenagers/adults into specific programs, that are specially designed to attend their needs considering their limitations would provide the always so important sensation of importance and acceptance that not only they - but every human being needs.

You ask me to provide an example? Well ... I don't quite remember the source right now, but i do remember that once, in the past, I've read that a significant amount of people affected by depression are due to their exclusion from groups and the feeling of rejection by the society. Unfortunately, the information that the very Society has ALL kinds of groups that one can imagine will never reach these depressive poeple, the truth is: there is a place where they can feel part of the whole.

This for sure can help to accept and overcome their condition, regardless of the type of disability - physical of mental.

to kill a mockingbird basically is about a lawyer who goes against everything in a racist society like at the time of this novel, to defend a black man accused of sexual abuse. in the bible there are cases like that of joseph, who was accused by the woman of potifar, for a crime similar to that of tim robbinson, of that novel (genesis 39: 1-20). at this point we see that god also provides the escape to joseph, who was accused unjustly, but in his time, and through his attitude, his faith was not shaken, and god provided the solution. the perspective of god also written in the bible and not pay evil with evil. (ephesians 4: 32, 1 thessalonians 5: 15, 1 peter 3: 9). atticus, the lawyer, demonstrated during this lee novel, empathy, love of neighbor, understood the situation of this accused man. he went against everything in that society, and stood in favor of that man, for the injustice committed. this shows the empathy, the love taught by christ, in some passages that speak of love and justice in the sermon of the beatitudes (especially verses 6 and 7 of matthew 5).

wordsworth tends to see nature as 'out there'; a presence which surrounds humans, and contributes to human life, but is different from humans. if you look at a typical wordsworth poem (there was a boy, ye knew him well ye rocks) - wordsworth talks about nature as something that needs to be learned about and understood, nature is different from us.  

if you look at a byron poem (the isles of greece is a good one) - byron looks at nature mainly for what it already means to man. wordsworth will look at a landscape and see the mountains, trees, valleys, and rivers as almost spiritual presences - wordsworth wants to get to know nature.  

byron will look at the same landscape and he will want to know who lives there, what are the villages? are there any farms or mines, is there some history?  

wordsworth looks at nature for what it is; byron is forever asking what it means.  

wordsworth thinks that humans are part of nature; byron thinks that nature is part of being human
