Sorry, but the correct answer is actually A) Ella loved wildlife and was fascinated by the etymology of butterfly.

Etymology is the study of the origin of a word (like said above) so that means it couldn't be D because the origin of a word provides more insight to it, where it was derived from, and what it means. Not who encountered it or used it.
