Fluid pressure is a measurement of the force per unit area on an object in the fluid or on
the surface of a closed or open tank. In industrial or laboratory applications, a standpipe
containing a static liquid is being used in creating a stable pressure on a particular process
or system. Figure 2 shows a compound-differential manometer that use to measure the
difference in pressure between two points or between a certain point and the atmosphere. If
the pressure different between point A and B is measured as 74.5 kPa, determine the
difference in level y.

Amass of 1.5 kg of air at 120 kpa and 24°c is contained in a gas-tight, frictionless piston-cylinder device. the air is now compressed to a final pressure of 720 kpa. during the process, heat is transferred from the air such that the temperature inside the cylinder remains constant. calculate the boundary work input during this process.
