Air is injected into a combustion chamber with a constant temperature of 1145K. Oxygen (B) in the air diffuses through a 2.0 mm thick stagnant gas film to a flat carbon surface, where the oxygen reacts instantaneously to form carbon dioxide (A). The carbon dioxide diffuses away from the carbon. No reaction occurs in the gas film. At the surface of the carbon, the partial pressure of C02 is 60 kPa. What is the partial pressure of C02 1.25 mm from the carbon surface?

Water vapor initially at 10 bar and 400 °c is contained within a piston-cylinder assembly. the water lost heat to the surrounding according to isochoric (iso-volumetric) process until its temperature is 150 °c. the water is then condensed isothermally to saturated liquid. for the water as a system, calculate the work in kj/kg
