Consider a steam power plant operating on the ideal Rankine cycle. Steam enters the turbine at 4 MPa and 300°C and is condensed in the condenser at a pressure of 10 kPa. Determine the effect of superheating and boiler pressure for following ranges; (i) steam temperature from 250 °C to 700°C (ii) Boiler pressure range 4 to 17 MPa (keeping turbine inlet temperature constant at 600°C).
