An aluminum tube (outer diameter = 120 mm, inner diameter = 110 mm, Galuminum = 28 GPa) and a copper tube (outer diameter = 50 mm, inner diameter = 40 mm, Gcopper = 40 GPa) are securely fastened to two rigid bars in end B and fixed in end A. The length of the two tubes is 1.4 m. A torque of 8 kNĀ·m is applied at section B. Determine (a) the maximum torsional shear stresses developed in the aluminum and copper tubes, respectively, and (b) the angle of twist at section B.
