A type 2 wind turbine has 8-pole, 60Hz, induction generator. The maximum rated output of the turbine is 1.5 MVA. The terminal voltage is 690 V. a) Find the rated current. That is, the current when the generator is operating at its maximum rated output. b) Suppose the turbine is operating at 1 MW output power. After a voltage depression on the grid, the output power of the generator is reduced by 30% which is to be consumed by added resistances. Compute the value of the added resistance that would limit the rotor current to 150% of the rated current of the stator. Ignore all losses.
