Assignment Overview Imagine you’ve just had a container of televisions shipped to Los Angeles from Japan via ocean liner. You need to get the shipment to a distribution center in New York. How do you do this? Truck all the way? Rail? Air? How would you transport the shipment and why?

In this assignment you will create a storyboard that depicts your containers’ journey from Japan to the distribution center in New York. You will analyze the advantages and disadvantages of each of the shipping methods discussed in this lesson in order to determine the best shipping method for your containers. Your storyboard should consist of multiple modes of transportation. For each leg of the journey, you will map out a realistic route for your cargo based on existing waterways, railroads, roads or airplane flight paths.

Assignment Directions
Step 1:

Map out a shipping path from Japan to Los Angeles to New York City. Conduct online research to determine existing roads, railroad lines, airplane flight paths, or water routes.

Step 2:

Use your shipping path to estimate the time that it will take to ship your cargo from Japan to Los Angeles. Your estimate should be realistic and based on known distances and speeds. Use your online sources to determine the distance, in miles, that your cargo will travel and the average speed, in miles per hour, with which each mode of transportation travels.

Step 3:

Write an essay that describes your chosen shipping path and explains the advantages of your chosen modes of transportation over the other possible options.

Submission Directions
Outline your shipping path with clearly labeled distances, average speeds, and approximate traveling times.
Discuss how you made the decision about your shipping decisions.
Include a list of all references used to complete this assignment.
Write a 750-word essay and submit it to your teacher electronically.

Refrigerant-134a enters the compressor of a refrigerator as superheated vapor at 0.14 mpa and -10°c at a rate of 0.05 ka/s and leaves at 0.8 mpa and 50°c. the refrigerant is cooied in the condenser to 0.72 mpa and 26'c. it is then throttled to 0.15 mpa. sketch the t-s diagram for the system and evaluate: 6) the rate of heat removai from the refrigerated space (kw), it) the power input to the compressor (kw), ii) the isentropic efficiency of the compressor (%), and iv) the cop of the refrigerator.
