A simiply supported composite beam is made of Segment A and Segment B. Segmanet A of the composite beam is 2014-T6 aluminum alloy and Segment B is A-36 steel. If the distributed loading intensity w = 0.9 kips/ft, (1) determine the absolute maximum bending stress developed in the aluminum and steel, respectively; (2) Sketch the stress distribution on the cross section. The modulus of aluminum alloy is 10.6 × 106 psi, and the modulus of steel is 29 × 106 psi.
