A pulley-block system is used for testing in a UHart mechanics lab. The pulley has an outer radius of R = 0.75 m, an inner radius of 0.44 m, a mass-moment of inertia of IG = 7.5 kg*m2 , and is constrained to rotate about its mass center G. The inner radius has a cord wrapped around it that is used to pull the block, which has a mass of 5.8 kg. The coefficient of friction µ between the block and the surface is 0.37. A second cord wound around the outer radius of the pulley is pulled down with a constant force F of 22 N which starts the system from rest. There is no slip between the cords and the pulley. (a)(15 points) Draw the FBD and the MAD for the system, showing all forces and resulting motions, (b) (20 points) Determine the angular velocity ω of the pulley after 5 seconds.

Apump is used to circulate hot water in a home heating system. water enters the well-insulated pump operating at steady state at a rate of 0.42 gal/min. the inlet pressure and temperature are 14.7 lbf/in.2, and 180°f, respectively; at the exit the pressure is 60 lbf/in.2 the pump requires 1/15 hp of power input. water can be modeled as an incompressible substance with constant density of 60.58 lb/ft3 and constant specific heat of 1 btu/lb or. neglecting kinetic and potential energy effects, determine the temperature change, in °r, as the water flows through the pump.
