A storm water system is being designed for a new residential/downtown area being considered. For this subdivision compute the: a) maximum potential retention (in inches); b) direct runoff (in inches); and c) total volume of runoff (ft3 ). Assume normal moisture conditions for 8 inches of rainfall on the 20- acre development. The hydrologic soil group is a mixture of 60% Group B and 40% Group C throughout the watershed. The land use for the subdivision is split three ways; 90% is equally made up of 1/8-acre lots and commercial business areas, and the remainder is used for paved streets. If the original area was split evenly between a meadow and a pasture in poor condition, what were the original maximum potential retention (inches); direct runoff (inches); and c) total volume of runoff (ft3 ). What is the level of urbanization that has occurred due to the place of the new subdivision?
