A vertical piston/cylinder assembly is designed such that the piston rests on stops and the volume encased below contains 0.25 kg of air at 100 kPa and 300 K. The mass of the piston and the atmospheric pressure acting on it are such that the pressure inside the cylinder must rise to 500 kPa for the piston to move. How much heat, in kJ, must be transferred to the air before the piston starts to rise?
