Using only variables we use in class, show how you would solve for bw for an H-beam, given bf, hf, and hw. You should start with the deflection equation and assume you are given P, L, E and deflection. Your result should be one equation solving for bw. You may create your own variables to use as ways to simplify the equation as long as you clearly define these variables before using them. Show all your work and box you final equation. Someone should be able to easily follow and understand your steps.
