It is known that 4000 automobile trips are generated in a large residential area from noon to 1:00 P. M. on Saturdays for shopping purposes. Four major shopping centers have the following characteristics:

Shopping Center Distance from residential Commercial floor
area (km) spacing ft²
1 2.4 200,000
2 4.6 150,000
3 5.0 300,000
4 8.7 600,000

(1) If a logit model is estimated with coefficients of -0.543 for distance (in miles) and 0.0165 for commercial space (in thousands of ft-) for all shopping centers, how many shopping trips will be made to each of the four shopping centers?
(2) Consider the shopping trip situation described above. Suppose that shopping center 3 goes out of business and shopping center 2 is expanded to 450,000 ft² of commercial space. What would be the new distribution of the 4000 Saturday afternoon shopping trips?

1kg of water contained in a piston-cylinder assembly undergoes two processes in series from an initial state where the pressure is 3.0 bar and the temperature is 150°c process 1-2: the water is compressed isothermally to a volume of 0.25 m^3 with 120 kj of work being done to the system. process 2-3: the water is heated at constant volume to a final pressure of 10 bar. a. find the change in internal energy for the system. b. calculate the amount of heat transferred, in kj. c. sketch both processes on a t-v diagram. (196.33 kj/kg, 76.33 kj)
