In a shell-and-tube heat exchanger, under nominal condition a process stream (a liquid) is heated from 100oc to 200oc without any phase change using a heating medium in the tube side, temperature of which gets reduced from 300oc to 150oc. the process side has a bypass which remains closed under nominal condition. under nominal condition, there are equal resistances to heat transfer on shell and tube sides. it is desired that the process stream flowrate be increased by 30%, but it is desired that the process side pressure drop increases by only 44%. so the remaining portion of the inlet process stream for the desired scale up is bypassed and then mixed with the stream exiting the heat exchanger. what is the temperature of the process stream just at the outlet of the exchanger (i. e. before it mixes with the bypass) if the flowrate of the heating medium remains unchanged? considering turbulent flow condition, assume that the pressure drop in the process side is proportional to the square of its mass flowrate, i. e. 2

True or false (explain) (110)[111] is a slip system in bcc metals . the {111} family in fcc contains 8 planes. resolved shear stress (rss) in single crystals is just related to the applied stress. critical resolved shear stress (crss) in single crystal metals is direct proportional to the number of defects in the structure
