2. consider a thin nuclear fuel reactor rod that is 1 m long, 0.05 m diameter, has a thermal conductivity of 100 w/mk, and that can be considered as having a uniformly distributed internal heat generation of 1 kw/m3. the rod is submerged in the reactor heavy water which is at 100 c and losses heat to the water by convection with a heat transfer coefficient of 10 w/m2k. both ends of the rod are insulated. a) develop the differential formulation (equation and boundary conditions) for the corresponding fin problem (do not solve it). b) using the lump formulation find the steady state average temperature of the rod.
