Same as the book problem but different values.
a suction device is being designed based on the venturi principle
to lift objucts submerged in water. the operating water temperature
is 50 c. the suction cup is located 1.3 m below the water surface,
and the venturi throat is located 1 m above the the water. the
atmospheric pressure is 100 kpa. the ratio of the throat area
(i. e., the constricted area) to the exit area is 1/4, and the exit
area is 0.001 m squared. the area of the suction cup is 0.25 m
squared.
a. find the velocity of the water at the exit for maximum lift
condition.
b. find the volume discharge through the system for maximum lift
condition.
c. find the maximum load the suction cup can support.
state explicitly the restriction that constrains the maximum lift
(or minimum pressure in the system).

Describe one experiment in which the glass transition temperature and melting temperature of a totally amorphous thermoplastic material can be determined. show the relevant experimental results in a diagram which should be properly annotated with the two temperatures clearly marked. what is likely to happen to the curve in the diagram if the amorphous polymer is replaced by a thermosetting type?
