Arod of a certain material is 50 mm in diameter for the first 100 mm and 25 mm diameter for next 100 mm. calculate the diameter of the rod of the same material 200 mm long which will be able to absorb the same maximum amount of energy as the first rod. given that the yield strength for the material of the rod is 300 mpa, calculate the maximum amount of energy which could be absorbed by the stepped rod. (take e as 200 gpa).
