In this activity, you’ll see a diagram that simulates a logic gate and use it to investigate how the output of different logic gates depends on the inputs.
Part A
Let's start with a logic gate that takes one binary value as input. The lamp on the left shows the state (on or off) of the input. The input goes to the NOT gate, whose output is then fed to another lamp. A NOT gate can be understood as negating the input. Use the binary value 0 to represent an off state and the value 1 to represent an on state, and label the input and output A and Z, respectively. The switch toggles the value of A between 0 and 1. Fill the output for each value of the input in the table.
