Calculating change is something that we have been trained to do from a young age. For example, without thinking about it, we all know how many quarters, dimes, nickels and pennies we should receive if the change from our purchase is 47 cents. In this lab, you will write a program to convert a given amount of money (in cents) into change. Notice, however, that there are many ways to calculate change. That is, if our change is 47 cents, we could use 47 pennies. Or we could use 3 dimes and 17 pennies. Or we could use 4 dimes, a nickel, and 2 pennies. You get the idea. What we would really like to do is use a minimal number of coins. For 47 cents, one way to use a minimal number of coins is 1 quarter, 2 dimes, and 2 pennies.
For this lab, you will implement a greedy solution for the problem of calculating change. What is a greedy solution? It is quite simple. Assume you want to convert an arbitrary number of cents into coins of the following denominations: dollar, half-dollar, quarter, dime, nickel, and penny. Use as many dollar coins as possible; then, on what's left over, use as many half-dollar coins as possible; then again as many quarters as possible; then as many dimes as possible; then as many nickels as possible; finally the remainder is in pennies.

Creating "smart interfaces" in all sectors of industry, government, and the public arena is one of the fastest growing hct areas. these interfaces model, interpret, and analyze such human characteristics as speech, gesture, and vision. the field of biometrics, in which humans authenticate themselves to machines, is an area of considerable interest to hct practitioners. fingerprint scans are one of the most frequently used biometric options, and this article, biometric student identification: practical solutions for accountability & security in schools, makes a case for the implementation of fingerprint scans in schools. critique the article, and answer the following questions: according to the author, what are the main benefits of adopting fingerprint scans in schools for student identification? according to the author, what are the main drawbacks of adopting fingerprint scans in schools for student identification? do you agree with the author's assessment of the pl

Local area networks use many of the same network technologies and the internet, only on a smaller scale. devices that access lans are equipped with a network interface that contains circuitry for wireless or wired connections. devices also have a physical address, in addition to the ip addresses acquired from a dhcp server. the most popular wired technology is . the most popular wireless technology is , which can be configured as a(n) or star topology. setting up a lan and configuring its router is fairly easy. the first step is to change the standard to one that is secure. next, create a(n) that uniquely identifies the network by name. it is also important to activate wireless to prevent wireless signals from being intercepted during transmission. a limited-access network can be created for visitors to use. by activating , the router will be able to assign ip addresses to each device that joins the network. to connect to a secure lan that is protected by encryption, an encryption , or password, is required. lans can be used to access data collected by iot devices and the networks that tie these devices together. technologies such as rfid, nfc, bluetooth smart, zigbee, and z-wave offer -power links, essential for battery-powered devices that can’t expend excess amounts of energy transmitting data.
