In this compound we are having carbonyl group (C=O). So, carbonyl groups are further classified. Those compounds in which Alkoxy group is attached to carbonyl group throug oxygen are called as Esters. Esters are also derivatives of carboxylic acid in which hydroxyl hydrogen of carboxyl group is replaced by alkyl group. Esters have general formula R-CO-O-R.

In this compound halogen (Bromine) is attached to carbon. So those organic compounds in which halgens are attached to carbon are called as Alkyl Halides. Alkyl Halides have general formula R-X. Where R is alkyl group and X is halogen
