Electrolyte is a substance, once dissolved in water, produces an electically conducting solution or current. Electrolytes are classified as weak electrolytes or strong electrolytes.

Sugar is a nonelectrolyte. It does dissolve in water but it dissolves as molecules not ions.

Sodium chloride is a strong electrolyte. It dissolves as 100% ions in solutions.

Honey vinegar. some acid found in vinegar are considered weak electrolytes.

Carbon tetrachoride is not an electrolyte. It doesn't break down into ions because its bond is very strong and doesn't break under normal conditions of a solution.
