If the coefficients in a balanced chemical equation can represent mole ratios, why then can't we have coefficients like 1.2? A) coefficients also represent particles and particles like atoms, ions, and molecules MUST be whole numbers.

B) coefficients represent mole quantities and mole quantities MUST be whole numbers.
