Why does water condense onto the grass when the air is clear?

Because the water has surface tension and cohesion due to hydrogen bond between the water molecules. So the water can gather as a sphere. And also the grass surface is hydrophobic so it does not attract the water molecule.

While unproven, it uses facts to support part of a conclusion. it is still factual and has predictive power, however.
