Explanation:from Bohr's model of atom,electron exists in orbital which are defined energy level,when an element gains or loses electron(s) it forms positive and negative ion respectively.

The positive ions is known as cation,while the negative ions is known as anions .the cation is postively charged like the positive polarity in magnetism in physics while the negative ion or anion carries a negative charge like the negative end of polarity of a magnet.they both obey the basic law that like charge repel while unlike charge attracts. Example is the group one metals e.g Na,Li all loses the lone electron in their valence she'll to form cations depicted by Na^+,Li^+.on the other hand group VII elements like chlorine,atomic number 17,has electrons distributed as 2,8,7meaning it requires an electron to attain the inert status of the noble gases,hence it will attract an electron when reacting to form Cl^- an anion .

where p - pressure

v - volume

n - number of moles

r - universal gas constant

t - temperature

so if the pressure, volume and temperature are already known

we are left with n and r

since r is the universal gas constant that has a known fixed value then r too is known

so we are left with 'n'

once we know temperature volume and pressure

we can find the number of moles of gas present using the ideal gas law equation
