A group of senators is looking to revise the budget for government spending next year in order to reduce the country's debt. One senator proposes reducing the budget for grants for chemistry research. They support their idea by explaining that, because the last row of the
periodic table is complete, there is nothing left to discover and chemistry research is not as important to the United States anymore.
The president has steppelt in to make a decision on the matter. If you had 5 minutes to advise him, what would you say?
