Explain how to create a Bohr model for the element carbon

The Bohr model shows that the electrons in atoms are in orbits of differing energy around the nucleus. Bohr used the term energy levels (or shells) to describe these orbits of differing energy.

For carbon, the atomic number is 6, and the atomic mass number is 12 (6 protons plus 6 neutrons). Adding the two neutrons changes our atom. However, because the number of protons is the same, it is still carbon but now it is an isotope of carbon.

The Lewis symbol **Lewis Symbols are simplified Bohr diagrams which only display electrons in the outermost energy level** of carbon depicts a 'C' surrounded by 4 valence electrons because carbon has an electron configuration of

1s^2 2s^2 2p^2

the ideal gas law equation is as follows

pv = nrt

where p - pressure

v - volume

n - number of moles

r - universal gas constant

t - temperature

so if the pressure, volume and temperature are already known

we are left with n and r

since r is the universal gas constant that has a known fixed value then r too is known

so we are left with 'n'

once we know temperature volume and pressure

we can find the number of moles of gas present using the ideal gas law equation
