2. Each year, volunteers of the local WaVE (Waves are Very Exciting) group hold an annual meeting for new members. This year you have been asked to give the introductory speech at the meeting in which you will explain to members the importance of waves in the world. Your two-paragraph speech should include the following: • general properties shared by all waves.
• how waves affect matter at the macroscopic and particle levels.
• the difference between the three types of mechanical waves.

The speech should be appropriate for a formal audience, and must include a topic statement, transition phrases, and the science vocabulary from the word bank.
