A 325.kg block of ice at 0°C is brought to a fancy resort to be carved into an ice sculpture. Unfortunately someone mixed up door signs and instead of being stored in a
freezer, it was left in a sauna at 100°C. (someone was NOT paying attention and this
was not discovered until all of the ice was vaporized, leaving only the wooden pallet the
ice was delivered on!). How many Megacalories did it take to completely melt, raise the
liquid temp of the water and then vaporize all of the water? A really steamy sauna
before this was discovered!

)benzene and toluene form nearly ideal solutions. consider an equimolar solution of benzene and toluene. at 20 °c the vapour pressures of pure benzene and toluene are 9.9 kpa and 2.9 kpa, respectively. the solution is boiled by reducing the external pressure below the vapour pressure. calculate (i) the pressure when boiling begins, (ii) the composition of each component in the vapour, and (iii) the vapour pressure when only a few drops of liquid remain. assume that the rate of vaporization is low enough for the temperature to remain constant at 20 °c.
