Environmental Protection Agency's stricter regulation of exhaust emissions, most gasoline-powered vehicles starting with the 1975 model year must be equipped with catalytic converters.

The image shows a platinum surface inside a catalytic converter and how it causes a chemical reaction. Predict the outcome for the environment if platinum could no longer be used for catalytic converters.

A) Less gas would be produced which would help the automobile stay in good condition for a longer period of time.
B) More carbon dioxide would be available for our plants and trees.
C) More carbon monoxide gas would evolve from exhaust systems in automobiles endangering the environment.
