Ndicators are commonly used during titrations to monitor the point at which an acid has fully been converted to its conjugate base (or when a base has fully been converted into its conjugate acid). Its important to pick the proper indicator so that its one color in the beginning, and a different color once the acid or base has been fully converted. For example, in the titration of 1.0 M HCl, you start with only HCl and it gets converted to Cl- by the addition of strong base (HCl + NaOH β†’ NaCl + H2O). What is the pH in the beginning of the titration when you have 1.0 M HCl? What is the pH when all of the HCl has been converted to NaCl? In the titration of 1.0 HF, you start with only HF and it gets converted to F- by the addition of strong base (HF + NaOH β†’ NaF + H2O). What is the pH in the beginning of the titration when you have 1.0 M HF? What is the pH when all of the HF has been converted to NaF? Curcumin (found in turmeric) is an indicator with a pKa of 8.0 that turns from yellow to red. Would curcumin be a good indicator to monitor the titration of HCl? Would curcumin be a good indicator to monitor the titration of HF?

If you chip a tooth, most likely you will go to the dentist to have the missing material filled in. currently the material used to fill in teeth is a polymer that is flexible when put in, yet is hardened to the strength of a tooth after irradiation with blue light at a wavelength of 461 nm. what is the energy in joules for a photon of light at this wavelength?

Listenbase your answer to the question on the information below. nuclear radiation is harmful to living cells, particularly to fast-growing cells, such as cancer cells and blood cells. an external beam of the radiation emitted from a radioisotope can be directed on a small area of a person to destroy cancer cells within the body. cobalt-60 is an artificially produced radioisotope that emits gamma rays and beta particles. one hospital keeps a 100.0-gram sample of cobalt-60 in an appropriate, secure storage container for future cancer treatment. which choice represents the correct product for the beta decay of the co-60? fe-60ni-60fe-61ni-61
