When performing an extraction, venting of the vessel should be done almost immediately after initial mixing. this often results in the release of a gas (pressure). after subsequent mixing, each venting releases less gas, so venting does not need to be done as frequently. what is the gas (pressure) that is being released during venting? why does the gas form and why?
