In the recrystallization/melting point lab, and in the use of a digimelt melting point apparatus, there are a number of details which should be followed in order to obtain good results. some of these are listed below. select whether each statement below is true or false ?
(i)-a slow heating rate near the expected melting point gives the best result.
(ii)-a too fast heating rate is likely too result in an observed melting point that is too high.
(iii)-the temperature sensor is placed near the bottom of an aluminum heating block, closer to the heater than the sample, and is likely to read lower than the actual melting point of the sample.
(iv)-too much sample in the capillary will cause an artificially long melting point range.
(v)-you should record the temperature at which the sample first softens, then the temperature at which it completely melts, and report the melting point as the average of these two temperatures
