We all know about the planets that are existing in the system but few know that there are different types of classification these planets have to go through.

For example certain planets are known as gas giants, are basically globe of gas moving around in the solar system.

Explanation:

So from Jupiter to Neptune the planets are Jovian planets or the gas giants. While the initial planets Mercury and Venus are known as inferior planets. The first four planets are in a Terrestrial while the rest are outer planets.

First four planets lying within the belt (of asteroids). Hence the inner planets while the rest outside are Outer planets.
