Darwin called this idea of certain traits being selected in order for an organism to reproduce sexual selection. in crickets and frogs, males call to attract mates and females are attracted to superior males by characteristics of their calls. how can this also be a disadvantage to survival of the species? a) only the superior male traits are passed to the next generation. b) female choice for mating reflects only the genes of the superior males. c) calling can be hazardous because it also attracts parasites and predators. d) inferior males intercept the females from the superior males and mate anyway.
