A wildfire in California can cause lots of changes in the ecosystem that has been affected by it. For starters the forests, shrubs and grasses will burn, so the basis of the ecosystem will be destroyed. While the grasses will grow again, the shrubs and trees will need much more time or might not even grow again at all. This leaves the animals without their environment to which they are adapted to, and instead of forest they will have a grassland (few months after). This usually causes big populations of animals to die out in that region. Also the soil will be exposed to erosion ones the trees are gone, which will contribute to quick changes in the shape of the terrain, and also the ground will be heavily affected by landslides after heavy rains. So all in all, the ecosystem will change overnight and it will have devastating effects on the flora, fauna, and the relief as well.
