Newton Manufacturing produces scientific calculators. The models are N350, N450, and the N900. Newton has planned its distribution of these products around eight customer zones: Brazil, China, France, Malaysia, U. S. Northeast, U. S. Southeast, U. S. Midwest, and U. S. West. Data for the current quarter (volume to be shipped in thousands of units) for each product and each customer zone are given in the file Newton. Newton would like to know the total number of units going to each customer zone and also the total units of each product shipped. There are several ways to get this information from the data set. One way is to use the SUMIF function. Click on the datafile logo to reference the data. The SUMIF function extends the SUM function by allowing the user to add the values of cells meeting a logical condition. The general form of the function isNewton Scientific CalculatorsCustomer ZoneModelVolume (000 units)MalaysiaN350399.0ChinaN350315 8.3FranceN3501406.0BrazilN350163.5U S NortheastN35068.7US SoutheastN350999.7US MidwestN350544.9US WestN3501804.0MalaysiaN450228.0Chin aN450540.9FranceN450289.8BrazilN450 240.5US NortheastN450313.2US SoutheastN450681.3US MidwestN4501720.3US WestN4502922.3MalaysiaN9001301.6Chi naN9001629.3FranceN9001790.8BrazilN 900740.7US NortheastN90048.3US SoutheastN9001522.3US MidwestN9002217.5US WestN9001243.6(a)Complete the below table for total number of units distributed in each customer zone. The market for corn in country a is highly competitive. at the current market price of $5/bushel there is a shortage of 100,000 bushels of corn in this country. media reports claim that the price of corn will rise drastically in the near future. according to these reports, the neighboring country b had witnessed a similar situation recently. at the same price, the shortage in country b was also 100,000 bushels and eventually the equilibrium price in b went up to $10/bushel. both countries are known to have equal number of corn producers and the market supply of corn is identical at all prices. this, combined with the fact that consumers in the two countries also have similar tastes and preferences, led the media to conclude that the price of corn in country a would soon be as high as $10/bushel. the new equilibrium price turns out to be below $10/bushel, what inferences can be drawn?
