Figure 2-22 attached picture e. All entities should have a primary key, even though this diagram shows many entities without primary keys. What would be an appropriate primary key for the PRODUCED IN entity? Explain why you chose that primary key for the PRODUCED IN entity.
f. The textbook author frequently leaves an intersection entity with no attributes on "first draft" data models provided in the book. Thus, the PRODUCED IN entity has no attributes on the data model. Think about the purpose of this entity for the Pine Valley Furniture Company and name at least one non-key attribute that you believe might be stored in the PRODUCED IN entity. I recommend that you think about what data might have to be stored for a
furniture manufacturing company in order to answer this question.
g. Make up three sample rows of data each for the WORK CENTER, PRODUCT and PRODUCED IN entities. This means you will have a total of 9 rows of data (3 rows in each of 3 entities). Be sure to include data for all primary and foreign keys. If you don’t understand what I mean by “sample data,” refer to the first week exercise that we completed via Zoom class. If you weren’t in class, then watch the Zoom recording for Thursday, 1/28 or look at Figure 1-17 of your text. Again, I recommend that you think about what data attributes and data values would be reasonable for a wood furniture manufacturing company in order to answer this question.
