As we learned in our lessons about the fundamental imbalance of humanity in the world, businesses have to be concerned with sustainable practices and development not only so that they can advertise themselves as "green," but for many other reasons. sometimes it is easy to forget that businesses do not simply exist to make money. they help make up the fabric of society, and we depend on the products and services for sale on the market to survive in a world in which we cannot make all the food, shelter, and other necessities we need to survive. Businesses might profit because of our reliance on their products and services, but we as consumers profit as well. We have more time to pursue our interests and to work in increasingly specific careers. We are not limited to the labors of
survival, nor are we forced to make all the objects we need to be happy. Because of this thorough integration of
businesses into society, and the fact that businesses are populated and run by people, a business has certain
responsibilities within society.
