Breath holding can be defined as a physiological adjustment that involve the cardiovascular, nervous and respiratory system that act in a manner that induces O2 conservation and blood flow diversion to the vital organs such as heart and brain. However, the environmental  factors that differentiate between breath holding and dive includes: body position, temperature of water and pressure on the face.
