Explain competition within a species and between two different species and how competition can affect an environment's resources.

Competition is the biological interaction that occurs among organisms of either the same or different species which is associated with the need for a common resource that is available in limited supply relative to the demand. Competition will occur when the capability of the environment to provide the resource is less than the biological demand and this will lead to the organisms interfering with each other. With the competition the environment is bound to change and new stressors will be added to the ecosystem. The pressure will make an organism to change making them better competitors. Competition will play an important role in ecology and evolution. The competitors who are the best are the ones who will survive and they get to pass on their genes.

affects the water bodies: excessive use of fertilizers causes eutrophication. the fertilizers which are used on plants affect the quality of land on which it is used, further causing erosion of soil. the fertilizers used on plants contain harmful chemical fumes which affect the environment.
