At the start of the experiment, 200 mice are infected. The population is 1000 mice. At the end of week one, 30% of the infected mice will still be infected i.e. 60 mice. 40% of the original 800 uninfected mice will now also be infected, i.e., 240 mice. That leaves 300 infected mice and 700 uninfected mice.

Using the same calculations, by week two the infected mice are 90 + 280 = 370

By week three the infected mice are 111 + 252 = 363
