What is the depths and salinity of lake superior and how does this shapes the types of aquatic life present?

Lake Superior is the largest of the Great Lakes in surface area and volume. Lake Superior could contain all the other Great Lakes plus three more lakes the size of Lake Erie. Water flows into the lake from many small rivers and streams. The Long Lac and Ogoki diversions in Canada channel water into Lake Superior that would otherwise flow into Hudson Bay. By order of the International Joint Commission, the lake's level, controlled by gates on the St. Marys River at Sault Ste. Marie, may not exceed 602 ft (183 m) above sea level. Therefor each year a small percentage of the lake's water flows out through the St. Marys River, and it takes almost two centuries for the water to be completely replaced at the retention time. So the Lakes Superior drainage basin is rich in the natural resources and scenic beauty. It's sparsely might  be populated and economically dependent on its natural resources. That includes metals, minerals, forests and as well as recreation or tourism opportunities. Like national lakeshores and national state as well as provincial parks. It may also be known for it's clear, cold water and also agate beaches. Some of the tour guides and  highway travelers come  around to see the lakeshore. There were also many shipwrecks in Lake Superior that are now protected in the bottomland which preserves and is accessible to the recreational divers. 1985  scientists using a submersible vessel descended for the first time to the deepest part which happens to be -1,333 ft. and -405 m of Lake Superior. Lake Superior is near the Pictured Rocks, the National Lakeshore in Michigan waters.
I know a lot about it because I live in Michigan and went to a museum and learned all about Lake Superior.
