What is an animal that is classified as an invertebrate?

Since vertebrates are classified by the chordate sub phylum vertebrata, invertebrates are any other animal that is classified outside of that class. So some examples of these animals are insects, crabs, lobsters, snails, and jellyfish just to list a few.
