What is the purpose of elevating the head of the examination table during a pelvic examination?

Elevating the head during an external or internal pelvic examination may help prevent or alleviate dizziness. This is also helpful when the patient that will undergo an examination process has a history of high blood pressure and/or other cardiovascular diseases.
